Howdy and Happy New Year from your 2012 Louisville Bourbon Society Leadership. We will taste Jim Rutledge's winter barrel selection at the 17 January meeting. Four Roses produced 3 barrel strength, 16 year old, OBSV recipes that can only be purchased at the distillery gift shop. We have purchased one for tasting at our January 2012meeting.
Second, the Knob Creek is available for pick-up from Chuck. If you would like more, there are still a few bottles available at $35 each.
Third, looking ahead we are having another dinner at Jack's on 23 January 2012. Chef Tavis will prepare menu of caesar salad & traditional pot roast & gravy for meal. For those people wanting a vegetarian option, Chef Tavis can prepare large caesar salad per your request. Joy will be preparing 3 cocktails, a bourbon tasting while guests arrive & mingle, one cocktail with dinner, and a bourbon coffee for dessert. Total bill, including tax & gratuity, will be $40 per person. To RSVP please email JulieBartlett,jules767@bellsouth.net.
Finally, we have selected another barrel from Heaven Hill for purchase. It is an Elijah Craig and we will have the price available soon so we can begin pre-purchasing. This is the first of our planned quarterly purchase program.
